AP Specialist
The Accounts Payable Specialist will assist in all areas of the Accounts Payable Department.
- Manage current workflow of accounts payable data accurately and timely
- Assist with managing the administration of an electronic invoice routing system
- Ensure accurate coding of invoices and appropriate documentation for approvals
- Actively seek opportunities to streamline procedures and troubleshoot system issues
- Develop, document, and implement company policies and procedures
- Assist with strategic initiatives and project implementation
- Maintain records electronically within ERP systems or network server
- Reconcile vendor statements and manage vendor compliance
- Develop relationships with vendors and resolve issues
- Manage credit cards, coding, and collection of receipts
- Assist with preparing and submitting tax returns and year-end 1099s
- Assist with monthly closing and financial audits
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to management
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong proficiency with Sage 300/Sage Intacct, YardiNorthstar, Yoos
- Experience with handling large volumes of invoices (200-300 daily)
- Familiarity with electronic invoice systems and ACH payments
- Minimum 5 years accounts payable and vendor administration experience
- Ideally, this person would have real estate development or construction industries
- Understanding of accounting processes and internal controls
- Knowledge of state and local sales tax regulations
