Technician Packaging Maintenance

OVERVIEW

The Technician Packaging Maintenance is responsible to maintain the efficient operation of all packaging machinery. This position is on a Continental shift rotation in which you will report to Packaging Maintenance Supervisor.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safe and reliable operation of all packaging machinery
• Report any equipment deficiencies immediately to Maintenance Supervisor
• Involvement in the company Continuous Improvement program
• Work in accordance to the Redpath Health and Safety program
• Contribute to a positive workplace environment
• Work closely with Production Supervisor to prioritize jobs and minimize production downtime
• Consider the long term sustainability of all activities and endeavour to reduce, reuse and recycle resources in line with ASR policy.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of workplace health and safety matters relevant to your work.
• Exhibit positive collegial behaviours
• Maintain packaging area upkeep and cleanliness to the highest industry standard
• Perform packaging machine changeovers when required
• Completion of scheduled PM work and closing of work orders
• Able to troubleshoot in a fast pace environment
• Mechanical and electrical experience
• Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize according to business needs
• Good communication skills, written and verbal, complete shift reports with accurate information

WORK EXPERIENCES

• 1 to 3 years maintenance experience in manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
• Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and power supplies, gearboxes, motors, pneumatics.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Millwright and/or Electrical Trade (309A/442A) designation

• Ability to:
  • lift up to 50 lbs
  • use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and tools
  • walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb stairs frequently throughout the shift
  • reach, bend, twist, rotate, push and pull frequently
  • work independently as well as a team player
  • climb up and down ladders
• Ability to work rotating shifts and OT if required
• Must be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
• Must regard safety as a core value; Must be able to work safe and in a proficient manner

HOURLY PAY RANGE:

$42.55 / hour plus shift premiums
