Based in Edmonton, Alberta the Site Material Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the movement, storage, and availability of materials required for construction, maintenance, or any site-specific projects. The role ensures that materials are available when needed, are well-organized, and are in good condition to maintain the smooth progress of the project. What You Will Be Doing
- Complete accurate and efficient receipt, inspection, and documentation of materials delivered to the site, maintain accurate records of all deliveries and receipts, and manage logistics to facilitate smooth operations on-site.
- Oversee the efficient handling of Material Receiving Reports (MRRs), resolve issues related to Overages, Shortages, and Damages (OS&D), ensure proper documentation of Material Test Reports (MTRs), and compile regular status reports to track progress and ensure accurate material management.
- Ensure all materials, equipment, and supplies are stored securely and properly to minimize the risk of damage, loss, or deterioration.
- Coordinate with SCM and other internal stakeholders as required.
- Ensure Quality standards, client requirements and Code of Construction are met.
- Conduct regular stock audits and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and records, taking corrective actions to maintain inventory integrity.
- Ensure materials are stored in a safe and organized manner to avoid accidents and safety regulations regarding hazardous materials are adhered to.
- Accurately pick and issue materials to various departments, disciplines, or teams, ensuring the timely and proper allocation of materials to meet project or operational requirements.
- Completion of a related post-secondary education or trades certification is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse / inventory management practices and procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of the key concepts, practices, and regulations within the Oil & Gas (O&G) industry. This includes understanding the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.
- Solid understanding of (or prior experience with) mobilizing/demob and site start up specific to large-scale Industrial construction projects.
- Previous experience with Industrial Construction is preferred, with knowledge of Industrial Construction materials like, pipe/valves/fittings, tagged equipment, pressure vessels, compression, and the associated material grades.
- Ability to read and understand Construction Drawings i.e. Structural, Electrical, Mechanical.
- A strong understanding of construction safety protocols and the ability to ensure a safe work environment is paramount.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential to effectively plan, prioritize, and execute tasks and responsibilities in a manner that ensures productivity, minimizes stress, and achieves optimal outcomes within deadlines.
- Proficiency in material management software (Site Sense, Jovix, SAP, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced capabilities in Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
