Service Technician (Retail Loss Prevention)

Service Technician - Etobicoke, ON

Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for construction, heavy equipment, and working with cutting-edge technology? Were hiring a Service Technician to join our dynamic team supporting advanced security and loss prevention systems for some of the largest retailers across Canada.

This is more than just a service job—youll work in the field, operate power tools and concrete cutting equipment, and have the independence to manage your own schedule while making a real impact on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and service high-tech retail security and loss prevention systems at client locations.

• Perform preventative maintenance, repair work, and tune-ups on systems like cart containment and security sensors

• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints

• Use power tools and heavy-duty equipment such as grinders, quick-cut saws, and coring machines for asphalt and concrete cutting

• Run and install wiring through walls, ceilings, underground conduit, asphalt, and concrete at job sites

• Collaborate with a lead technician during initial training; eventually transition into independent fieldwork

• Maintain safety compliance and wear provided PPE (Scissor lift certification available)

• Travel to various job sites—mainly within the GTA with occasional overnight travel

Requirements:

• 3+ years of field experience in construction, security systems, or retail tech (e.g., alarms, CCTV, POS)

• Comfortable operating heavy equipment and power tools in rugged environments

• Hands-on experience in saw-cutting, drilling, or trenching through concrete and asphalt

• Strong understanding of low-voltage systems, electronics, and RF technology

• Basic networking/IT troubleshooting (e.g., IP cameras, wireless device setup)

• Valid drivers license with a clean abstract

• Physically fit and able to lift heavy tools, bend conduit, and climb ladders or lifts

• Able to pass a background check

• Long-term career mindset—this isnt a short-term role

Compensation & Benefits:

• $70,000-$75,000 base salary + 10% annual bonus

Work Location:
