The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Recruitment Coordinator develops and implements recruitment practices for alignment with the overall organizational strategy. The successful candidate will work as a strategic partner with all areas at the Polytechnic, providing guidance, planning and direction on the full recruitment life cycle, from sourcing to selection.
Specific duties include:
- Serve as a point of contact for career and application inquiries.
- Provide recruitment support to managers and supervisors in all areas of HR with special attention driven to talent management strategies.
- Develop and maintain HR databases, computer systems, filing systems and records.
- First point of contact for NWPs Applicant Tracking System.
- Develop and recommend policy and procedural improvements based on current best practices.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, exercising a high degree of discretion and sensitivity to confidential information.
- Participate as a selection committee member, ensuring candidates are shortlisted and selected in compliance with established policies/procedures and in accordance with the provisions of the applicable collective agreement.
- Generate employment offers based on selection committee recommendations in compliance with established policies/procedures and the provisions of the applicable collective agreement.
- Design and conduct new employee onboarding and orientation as needed.
Starting annual salary range: $63,144-$70,978
Job RequirementsA Diploma in Business or Human Resources and 3 years directly related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- CPHR and RPR designations are preferred.
- Experience with applicant tracking software.
- Knowledge and experience interpreting collective agreements.
- Thorough knowledge of talent management and all federal and provincial employment-related legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
- A high level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism and accountability.
