Human Resources Manager

HireLoft Recruitment is partnering with a rapidly growing distribution company to help them find an experienced Human Resource Manager to oversee and lead Canadian HR operations during a pivotal time of transition.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on supporting employees across multiple sites, enhancing compliance, and fostering engagement on the ground. Youll act as the go-to HR presence for the Canadian business while collaborating closely with U.S.-based senior leadership.

? What Youll Do

✔ Manage day-to-day human resources operations across offices and distribution centers in Ontario, Alberta, and BC

✔ Lead a small team (1 HR Generalist + 1 Payroll Specialist)

✔ Serve as the payroll backup (Dayforce) as needed

✔ Guide employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution

✔ Support talent acquisition, workforce planning, and onboarding

✔ Implement and align policies with corporate HR strategy

✔ Walk the floor and build strong relationships with employees

✔ Occasionally travel to other sites in Calgary and Vancouver (1-2 trips/year)

? Ideal Candidate

• 7-10 years of progressive HR experience
• 3-5 years in a leadership role as a Human Resource Manager or equivalent
• Experience with Dayforce or other payroll systems
• In-depth understanding of Canadian employment law and HR best practices
• A natural communicator who is approachable, people-oriented, and collaborative
• Ability to work hybrid (3 days onsite in Vaughan)
• Open to occasional travel within Canada
