General Labour

M & V CONTRACTORS is currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Labourer to join our team. As a labourer for our company, you will play an important role in supporting the construction process and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Responsibilities:

• Support and providing assistance with tasks such as demolition, framing, concrete pouring, installation of stone pavers and flagstone.
• Experience operating a skid steer and excavator are important.
• Assist in the setup and cleanup of construction sites, including handling and organizing materials, tools, and use of equipment.
• Experience building wood decks, framing or working with wood is an asset.
• Perform various physical tasks, such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects (50+lbs).
• Follow instructions and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment and prevent accidents.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the construction site by disposing of waste materials and debris.
• Ability to operate and maintain construction tools and equipment under minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively with team members, reporting any issues or concerns promptly.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a labourer in the construction industry specifically with concrete, installing stone pavers is a must.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of construction power tools and equipment is a must.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Must have own transportation.

Hourly Pay Rate will be determined by skill set.

Majority of work is within Halton Hills and Halton region.

Spring/Summer- exterior work includes - installing interlocking stone pavers, installing flagstone, pouring concrete, building decks and retaining walls.

Fall/Winter- interior work - bathroom and basement renovations.

Pay: $16.55-$24.61 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
