Full Time Float Support Worker

McMan is hiring a Float Support Worker based in Lethbridge.

About the position:

As a Float Worker you will be responsible for providing direct staffing support to various programs as directed by the Floater Team Supervisor, Programs Manager, and/or Director of Services. The primary programs of focus will be those experiencing difficult staffing situations, requiring support to ensure business continuity and sound operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a generalist who can swiftly adapt to different programs, providing flexible support to teams who require it. Including youth residential, outreach-based case management, and supports for adults with disabilities.
  • Be deployed to a range of programs in Lethbridge, Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass, Medicine Hat, and Brooks based upon the need of the agency.
  • Act as a short-term support for programs to enhance service delivery and consistency throughout the agency.
  • Provide a range of supports and interventions to children, youth, adults, and families.
  • Work primarily daytime hours, Monday - Friday; however, flexibility is required as some programs run 24/7/365 and at times need evening and weekend support (notice for these shifts provided to encourage work life balance)
  • Some travel required to support programs across the region, spanning from Medicine Hat to Crowsnest Pass, with the possibility of traveling to other areas in the province (you are compensated for travel or will use agency vehicles)

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in human services, social sciences, criminal justice, or related field; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Well-rounded experience working in multiple programs with varying participant demographics.
  • A passion to work with all demographics of participants, from children to seniors.
  • Understanding McMan Southwests Service Delivery Models will be an asset.
  • 1-year experience working with similar populations to McMans demographics.
  • Flexible and adaptable working style.
  • Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrate professionalism within all aspects of employment, with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Microsoft Office abilities (SharePoint, One Drive, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate or CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid Certificate
  • Clear Child Intervention Record Check, dated within the past six months
  • Clear Police Information Check with vulnerable sector, dated within past six months.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License, 3-year non-commercial Drivers Abstract, and use of reliable vehicle with $2M Third Party Liability insurance.
