Excavator Operator with Class 3 Drivers License

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Compact Excavator Operator with a Class 3 Drivers License to lead a crew of four workers on various excavation and construction projects. This dual-role position requires expertise in operating excavators and other heavy equipment, as well as strong leadership skills to supervise and coordinate the teams daily tasks. The successful candidate will ensure efficient workflow, maintain safety standards, and communicate effectively with management and clients.

Key Responsibilities:Excavator Operations:

• Operate excavators to perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and material movement.
• Transport heavy equipment by trailer using a Class 3 vehicle.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Follow job site plans, blueprints, and specifications to execute excavation work accurately.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following all company and regulatory safety standards.

Foreman Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a crew of four workers, ensuring productivity and quality of work.
• Assign daily tasks and provide on-site training or guidance as needed.
• Monitor work progress, resolve issues, and adjust plans to meet deadlines.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and inspectors to coordinate job requirements.
• Ensure all team members comply with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain records of work performed, equipment usage, and material consumption.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid Class 3 Drivers License.
• Experience operating excavators in construction, utility work, or related industries.
• Proven leadership experience managing construction crews.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations (OH&S, CSA standards, etc.).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour
