Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer - Aerospace - Canadian Permanent residence required for ITAR / Controlled Goods Program clearance

Are you an ambitious Electrical Engineer looking to launch your career in the aerospace industry?

We are seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join a team and work on cutting-edge electrical and electro-optical hardware for aerospace applications.

You will get to further your skills in the following areas;

• Designing and developing electronic hardware circuits for aerospace projects.
• Creating electrical schematics, BOMs, and PCB designs using industry-standard tools.
• Supporting the generation of hardware and electro-optical system requirements and design documentation.
• Assisting with unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of hardware systems.
• Working cross-functionally with systems, mechanical, and software teams to ensure seamless development.
• Participating in failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Supporting design reviews, qualification testing, and first article inspections (FAI).

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree/diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Electro-Optical Engineering.
• 1-2 years of relevant hardware/electrical design experience.
• Ability to work with ITAR/CGP restricted data - Canadian Citizen or Permanent Residency only.
• Familiarity with electrical design for aerospace applications and compliance with industry standards (e.g., MIL-DTL-7788, DO-160G).
• Experience with Altium Designer or similar schematic and PCB layout tools.

Any experience in the following would be really beneficial.

• Knowledge of LED and incandescent lighting in airborne control panels.
• Experience in electromagnetic compatibility, ESD, and transient immunity design.
• Understanding of hardware manufacturing processes, avionics components, and industry standards (IPC-2221, J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, etc.).
