Job Type: Part-time, Hourly (12-15 hours per week), Temporary 3-Month Contract
Salary: starting at $18.50/hour
Schedule: Ideally Tuesday and Friday 10am-4pm (may be adjusted to accommodate successful applicant)

Goodwill@Work is a collection of microsocial enterprises designed to create meaningful employment opportunities for persons with disabilities or other barriers. These enterprises include the upcycling of material, commercial contracts and cleaning services among several other successful projects. The goal of the program is to provide a safe and accommodating work environment so that those who may not be able to get employment elsewhere can demonstrate their skills and succeed at their work independently.
What youll be doing:
- Driving team members from a central meeting location to assigned work locations.
- Delivering various materials to homes based on contract requirements. (e.g. door hangers, compost bins, etc.)
- Overseeing team members and ensuring team is set up to be safe and successful.
- Communicating routes and job tasks to team members.
- Walking through neighborhoods and along busy streets to reach delivery addresses.
- Spending several consecutive hours during the day on foot and walking long distances.
- Working outdoors, year-round in all conditions. (e.g. heat, rain, and snow)
- Communicating to the purpose and mission of Goodwill to inquiring community members
- Keeping work areas organized and clean.
- Participating in any training and meetings as required.
- Covering as a supervisor for other projects and functions within the Goodwill@WORK department, as required.
- Other duties, as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
- Must have a Class 5 license (non-GDL) and be able to provide a clean drivers abstract.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass a criminal record check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as an integral part of the team.
- Ability to work alone or unsupervised.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (including weekends and evenings).
- Ability to walk 4-6 hours per day.
- Ability to regularly lift in excess of 10 kilograms (22 pounds) and perform physical/repetitive work on a continual basis.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must have sufficient command of the English language.
- Basic mathematical and written English skills.
- Responsible for own transportation to and from work.
Working Conditions
- Site will be various remote outdoor locations, with exposure to road hazards, allergens and noise.
- Required to transport team members in company vehicle to delivery locations.
