What Youll Get to Do

The Class 1 Driver is focused on providing exemplary customer service to our clients and co-workers, adhering to all corporate and federal transportation safety policies while ensuring safe and damage free delivery of shipments. Encompass best practice when faced with situations that require individual decision and reports to the Plant Manager.

This role is perfect for an individual who customer oriented, safety centric, and goal driven. A vital member of the Transportation Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job responsibilities include:

• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition, while also ensuring the contents are secure at the beginning of each shift and/or delivery via pre-trip inspection following all compliance requirements
• Transport product to customer safely and damage free
• Load and unload shipments of glass at both customer job - site and/or shop (crane operation & manual lifting).
• Report all concerns on damaged shipments to the transportation manager immediately and ensure the Bill of Lading (BOL) is properly notated and/or signed upon each delivery
• Must always carry accident kit and XRS system

What We Are Looking For

• Class 1 License with one or more years of hands on driving experience, preferred.
• 5 demerits or less on drivers abstract
• Must be comfortable driving a standard transmission and have proactive driving capabilities.
• Maximum manual lifting requirement of up to 75 lbs
• ELD logbook, load securement, pre & post trip, and road test experience
