Technology Transformation Director: AI-Led Quality Engineering Transformation
Role Overview
Iris Software is seeking a senior Quality Engineering leader to drive strategic AI-led Quality Engineering transformation programs for leading Financial Services clients across North America. This leadership role combines transformation strategy, delivery leadership, client advisory and people leadership. The successful candidate will own the modernization of Quality Engineering capabilities across large, business-critical portfolios spanning Market Risk, Credit Risk and data-intensive platforms, while leading globally distributed teams and delivering measurable business outcomes through GenAI, Automation and Cloud-enabled testing practices. The role will initially lead a flagship transformation engagement and subsequently scale across multiple client programs, helping shape Iris’ AI-led Software and Quality Engineering transformation offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute enterprise Quality Engineering transformation strategy, roadmap and operating model aligned to business outcomes.
- Drive adoption of GenAI, intelligent automation and modern Quality Engineering practices to improve quality, productivity, speed, and efficiency.
- Lead globally distributed teams delivering functional, regression, automation and data/ETL testing services across complex application portfolios.
- Own business benefits realization, including cost optimization, automation adoption, productivity gains, cycle-time reduction and quality improvements.
- Lead both Business-as-Usual & Transformation workstreams through a KPI-driven governance framework.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, influencing technology strategy, transformation priorities and execution decisions.
- Build scalable frameworks, accelerators, and best practices that can be replicated across multiple transformation programs.
- Support strategic pursuits, solutioning, executive workshops and thought leadership related to AI-led Software and Quality Engineering.
- Develop high-performing leaders and teams through coaching, mentoring and capability building.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 20+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering, Testing Transformation, Software Engineering, or Technology Leadership roles.
- Proven track record leading large-scale QE organizations and enterprise transformation programs within Financial Services or similarly complex regulated industries.
- Deep expertise across the following: Quality Engineering Strategy & Governance; Functional & Regression Testing; Test Automation; Data & ETL Testing; Large-Scale QE Transformation.
- Strong hands-on experience driving GenAI-led software and Quality Engineering transformation.
- Strong understanding of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and/or GCP) and cloud-native QE practices.
- Experience leading multiple globally distributed programs with an overall portfolio of 50-150+ associates.
- Demonstrated success delivering measurable business outcomes through modernization, automation and transformation initiatives.
- Exceptional executive stakeholder management skills, with MD, CIO, CTO, C-1 and C-2 level leaders.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive strategy, execution, governance & benefits realization.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience
- Capital Markets, Market Risk, Credit Risk, or Regulatory Technology domain experience.
- Experience supporting North American Financial Services clients.
- Exposure to Risk Data Platforms, Data Engineering, and large-scale data ecosystems.
- Experience in IT Services leadership, including pre-sales, solutioning, and consulting engagements.
- Recognized thought leadership in AI-led Software Engineering, Quality Engineering.
