Visual Content Production Manager The UMC team works four days a week from our creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto and one day to work virtually. Reporting to the Creative Director, Universal Music Canada is seeking an experienced Visual Content Production Manager to join our Creative team. Responsibilities:
  • Manage the production and workflow of visual content daily for music releases including but not limited to, release assets, album artwork, music videos, video cutdowns, Spotify canvas, visualizers, lyric videos, social capture, compilation videos, liner cutdowns, pseudo videos, etc.
  • Work closely with label executives, label staff, managers, artists and production teams on visual content plans for review by artists, management, and label team
  • Deliver successful and meaningful content at any budget and production level
  • Long term strategic planning for releases, outlining pre & post production scheduling
  • Liaise with creators, reps and production companies during solicitation and creation
  • Maintain creator database, project management platform and payment grids
  • Oversee video, art, & photography agreements
  • Research new and current directors, production companies, digital creators, stylists, hair & makeup artists
  • Oversee and maintain consistency on production of creative deliverables
  • Act as a project manager and team coordinator to help conceptualize and execute the digital visual elements of an artist campaign
  • Assist in the management of multiple projects to meet deadlines and stay within designated budgets
  • Additional duties as assigned. Will work cross-departmentally with Marketing, A&R, and UMGB as necessary

  • Resume and portfolio that demonstrates expertise in execution across many levels
  • Broad network of partners in all areas of production, must include digital creators, animators, motion graphic artists, editors, etc.
  • Proven negotiation skills in dealing with business partners, creative partners and internal teams
  • High attention to detail with regard to aesthetics, as well as production planning
  • Creating and maintaining professional internal and external relationships
  • Participate in artist brainstorms with artist/management and key teams internally as needed
Bring your VIBE:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in content creation and production
  • A passion for a career in music and visual content
  • Some familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Live, photo and/or video production experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of photographers, directors, stylists, & content creators
