Transportation Analyst

What Youll Do at Shellex: In this role, you will assist with planning and analysis efforts for transportation projects focused on road safety, traffic operations, and preliminary design of roadways and intersections. You will support the preparation of traffic studies, road safety audits, and preliminary design plans. You will also assist in analyzing traffic data, developing technical reports, and preparing client presentations. You will work closely with senior staff and collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet technical standards and client expectations. You will also have the opportunity to assist in managing smaller tasks and projects, gaining valuable experience in transportation engineering. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple tasks. You will need strong analytical abilities and the capability to communicate effectively within project teams and with clients. Qualifications required : Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology / Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field. 3-6 years of experience in road safety, traffic operations, and/or preliminary design projects. Familiarity with transportation analysis software (e.g., Synchro, AutoTurn, or similar). Knowledge of relevant local, provincial, or federal transportation standards and guidelines is an asset. Willingness to use other guidelines and undertake projects in other provinces. Basic experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to assist in preparing reports and presentations. Organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
