Studio Support Assistant (Odette Residency)

Purpose: The Studio Support Assistant is responsible for providing studio support to students and faculty. Provides extended drop in access to the Odette Sculpture Studios outside of Residency class hours. Provides studio assistance to the invited Odette Artist in Residence during drop-in hours. Education: Must be enrolled in upper year Visual Art studio Sculpture courses. Experience: Previous experience as a Studio Support Assistant in Visual Arts Skills: 1. Familiarity with metal, wood and ceramic sculpture techniques, use of hand tools and carpentry shop equipment e.g. table saw, welding.2. Ability to communicate with others to explain and share information.3. Ability to understand and demonstrate instructions, policies & procedures.4. Ability to provide instruction and support others in developing knowledge or skills.5. Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.6. Knowledge of an applicable program discipline. Additional Notes: Requirement to stand for long periods of time.Ability to lift/move/carry equipment or material of varying weights.
