Senior Safety Systems Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Safety Systems Engineer to join our large defense clients in Halifax, NS. This person will join the team in a full-time role and will be required to go on-site five times a week. The Senior Safety Systems Engineer will be responsible for the following:

- supporting Hazard Identification, Hazard Analysis, and Risk Assessment.

- supporting and providing coordination to Product Safety & Environmental meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

- supporting the development and execution of the CSC Safety and Environmental Management System, Safety and Environmental Management Plan, Safety and Environmental Case Report, and Hazard Log.

- supporting the development and execution of the CSC Safety Program, update and review of key metrics and objectives.

- providing support to the Safety & Environmental teams as required.

Required skills and experience:

• Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) or equivalent, Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in Product/Systems Safety.
• 5+ years of experience developing net new and editing existing Safety

Cases for complex hardware and software systems.

• Strong knowledge and practical application of standards and legislative requirements, preferably DStan, Mil-Stds, LR NSR, ANEP-77, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Software Safety methodologies.
• Knowledge of Naval Ship Code/Classification Society Rules.
