Retail Sales Representative

As a Retail Sales Representative, you are a strategic thinker who will be responsible for managing all aspects of sales in a professional and efficient manner. To be successful, you are a quick thinker, goal-oriented individual who can prioritize and has the drive to achieve results in a rapidly changing fast paced environment.

You are a key player in executing our sales plans through selling, merchandising, shelving and managing distribution in your territory (Calgary and AB South). By optimizing the in-store environment, you will influence consumer purchasing behaviours generating sales.

Key activities

  • Service and manage various stores in the Calgary/Southern AB area including all channels of stores.
  • Sell, merchandise, shelve and manage distribution in established territory.
  • Execute booking forms issued by Key Account team.
  • Develop action plans for promotions and new product launches.
  • Build large displays utilizing point of sale materials to support product launches and promotions.
  • Identify and execute new business opportunities.
  • Reach targets set for specific promotions and help your team with overall company retail goals.
  • Report and manage sales execution on an electronic tablet.
  • Ensure that products are priced correctly, properly rotated and have valid expiry dates.
  • Maintain a high level of competitor knowledge including products, pricing, discounts and promotions.
  • Maintain accurate account records and submit required territory audits/reports.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with our customers through effective communication.

Required training and experience

  • Possess a valid drivers license.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of retail sales experience.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry (an asset).
  • Post-Secondary education in business or marketing (an asset).
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office suite.

  • Travel is required in this position to effectively manage the territory.
  • Must be able to lift 25-30 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
