The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to join the Project Management Support unit within the Project Support Office in either Regina or Saskatoon in a term position.
As a Project Standards Manager you will form part of a provincial team that serves a wide range of stakeholders including, but not limited to, Ministry staff, contractors, and consultants.
As a Project Standards Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and improving the Ministrys project management software (e-Builder) utilized in the delivery of highway infrastructure projects;
- Providing technical support and innovative solutions to users of the e-Builder software;
- Development and documentation of project management standards, policies, procedures, templates, tools, and best practices related to the delivery of highway infrastructure projects;
- Providing training to internal and external stakeholders on the e-Builder software and project management standards;
- Assisting with project tracking and reporting on various project metrics through the collection, interpretation, and evaluation of data;
- Assisting with the Ministrys year end financial procedures and reports;
- Collaborating within the Project Management Support team on projects relating to procurement, contractor payments and consultant agreement administration;
- Initiating and managing research projects to aid in the development of standards, policies, procedures, and best practices.
To qualify for the Project Standards Manager position, you will:
- possess a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer or engineer-in-training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS); OR
- possess a 2 year Degree/Diploma in engineering or a related field, be eligible for registration with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT) and have 8 years related work experience; OR
- have a minimum of 15 years progressively responsible experience in a related field.
