Position Overview:As a Lead Hand, you will work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to oversee and execute paving projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for directing and coordinating the crew, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in asphalt paving, as well as equipment operation, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the crew in asphalt paving projects, from preparation to completion varying from small restoration patches to larger paving projects.
• Operate and manage pavers and screeds, ensuring proper mat finishing.
• Operate additional equipment as needed (skid steers, hauling equipment, etc.).
• Coordinate crew activities and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Work closely with the Foreman and Project Manager to meet project goals and timelines.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in asphalt paving is required.
• Valid Class 5 drivers license (Class 3 with air endorsement is a plus).
• Experience with paver and screed operation.
• Experience operating heavy equipment (Paver, skid steers, hauling trailers, etc.) is an asset.
• Strong leadership skills with experience directing or coordinating a crew.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Motivated, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
