National Team Pathway Manager

Type of Position: Part-time (20 hour/week) contract for one year, with potential for extension Location: Remote or Al Charron National Training Center - Langford, BC Department: High-Performance Reporting to: Senior Manager, Rugby Sevens Operations Travel: Limited Compensation: $2,500 -$2,900 per month depending on hours Our purpose at Rugby Canada is to inspire the nation on the global stage, and to lead, govern and support the game of rugby across Canada, to ensure Rugby Canada is recognized and respected worldwide as a top 12 rugby nation on and off the field. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced sports administration professional to lead the development and implementation of our National Player Pathway Program - Development Stage. This role represents a key leadership opportunity within a strategic, high-impact project aimed at shaping the future of athlete development nationwide. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a Scouting Network framework to identify players with potential for LA2028 and
Brisbane 2032 Olympics and the 2027-2031 Rugby World Cups.
  • Lead the recruitment for the Next Gen Scouting Network, including creating job
descriptions and a calendar of events. Collaborate directly with the Provincial Sport Organizations (PSOs).
  • Work with the Next Gen scouting network to build comprehensive depth charts, player
profiles, and databases of potential future national team players.
  • Manage Next Gen program planning and execution for events such as the Junior Pan Am
Games, Canada Summer Games, Youth Olympics.
  • Provide connection and synergy between the Development Stage to the Confirmation
Stage of the Player Pathway by engaging with key stakeholders in the rugby community.
  • Lead all communication with the Provincial Sport Organizations regarding programming
and information focused on the Development Stage (Technical Model, Player Evaluation Tools, Schedules, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned and be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of
the organization in line with Rugby Canadas #OneSquad philosophy.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and understanding in developing and delivering player pathway programming.
  • Experience in developing programs and managing a variety of stakeholders at a national
and provincial level.
  • Experience in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate collaborative approach to work.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within Canadian rugby.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge and experience in rugby considered an asset.
  • A diploma from a post-secondary institution or relevant education considered an asset.
  • Bilingual in English and French considered an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
