Qualifications MCC is an equal opportunity employer, committed to employment equity. This job is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. This is a temporary position (35 hrs./week, Monday - Friday) based in Calgary, AB. Eligibility Criteria:- You must be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or a person who has been granted refugee status and be legally entitled to work in Alberta.
- Works in collaboration with the MCC Alberta team members to execute the event plans and checklists.
- Assist with managing data for invitees and attendees for planned events.
- Communicating and assisting with response to inquiries and event information.
- Work with the events team to organize event space and area.
- Execute event venue tasks including technical and planning assignments.
- Coordination of events inventory and help with event supplies for delivery.
- Assist with set up and tear down at event venues.
- Helping with post event stewardship and debriefing (thank you notes, following up with participants, sending out feedback surveys et.)
- General administration tasks- preparing emails, printing, photocopying, filing, minute taking etc.
- A minimum of one-year post-secondary education.
- Some event experience and some technical knowledge
- Knowledge and ability in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Spiffy, Eventbrite, Teams, and Slack is an asset.
- Knowledge of social media platforms for event planning activities
- Must have the ability to multitask, work with diverse personalities and work within strict deadlines.
- Enthusiastic to learn the ropes of our unique events and administration.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Class 5 AB drivers license (preferred)
- Flexible to occasionally work evening or weekend shifts.
