Our Client is known to be the fourth largest diversified environmental company in North America providing waste management services from its platform of facilities throughout Canada and the US and they are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst / Senior Accountant to join them on a 3+ month contract. The role is in office full time located in Vaughan at Jane and Hwy 7.
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst who will take ownership of full cycle accounting activities and provide day-to-day support to the Corporate Controller. You’ll be instrumental in catching up on processing, reconciling key accounts, and managing lease contracts and amortization across the company. You’ll collaborate closely with various business units to ensure accurate, timely, and complete accounting records.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate General Ledger & Month-End Close: Execute full-cycle accounting for our corporate departments, ensuring accurate and timely recording of operating expenses and accruals. Lease Accounting (IFRS 16): Manage lease accounting and tracking under IFRS 16 for the corporate portfolio, ensuring accurate amortization schedules and monthly entries. Intercompany Management: Process, reconcile, and confirm intercompany transactions between corporate and field entities. Financial Consolidation: Prepare the monthly consolidation, including eliminating entries and topside adjustments. Process Standardization: Design and implement a standardized month-end corporate accrual process. System Integrity: Oversee the financial system's period-end closing procedures. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare and maintain comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations for corporate accounts, investigating and resolving variances promptly.
