Position Summary

We are seeking a highly driven New Business Development Manager with a proven track record in the Canadian mobile industry. This individual will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and securing new business opportunities across national and regional retail accounts, while strengthening TCL’s market position in mobile devices. The main focus for this role will be on the tablet & internet / network categories. The ideal candidate will bring 8–10+ years of sales experience in mobile products to Canadian national retailers, demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and possess the ability to independently drive growth through proactive outreach, including cold calling and prospecting new accounts.

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in-office (Markham, ON), with flexibility for travel to customer sites, trade shows and industry events as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Drive aggressive revenue growth by identifying, developing and closing new business opportunities across national and regional retail accounts.
  • Prospect new accounts through proactive outreach, including cold calling and networking while expanding existing partnerships.
  • Develop and execute strategies to exceed quarterly and annual sales and revenue targets.

Strategic Partnerships & Market Development

  • Form and manage long-term partnerships with key retail accounts, carriers and distribution partners to maximize TCL’s presence in Canada.
  • Negotiate and close complex deals, including vendor agreements, marketing support and promotional contracts.
  • Represent TCL Mobile at industry events, trade shows and account summits, serving as a brand ambassador.

Strategic & Analytical Skills

  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes and customer insights to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Develop financial models, business cases and forecasts to support account strategies and business planning.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (marketing, operations, finance) to ensure execution of joint business plans and promotional programs.

Leadership & Communication

  • Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with customers, distributors and internal leadership.
  • Inspire confidence across cross-functional teams by aligning execution to long-term strategic goals.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and business cases to executives, stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 8–10 years of proven experience selling mobile products to Canadian national and regional retailers (e.g., Best Buy, Walmart, Costco, Amazon, carriers).
  • Demonstrated history of exceeding revenue targets and driving sustained growth.
  • Extensive network within the Canadian mobile/consumer electronics industry.
  • Strong deal-closing, negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent strategic planning, financial acumen and market analysis skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial and able to operate independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field (MBA is an asset).

Willingness to travel as required for business development, trade shows and account management.

Salary Range -$100K - $120K/yr
