This posting is open to WRDSB employees who are members of the EA Association as well as External applicants. Staff already in an LTO are not eligible to apply to this posting if it will conflict with their current LTO. All LTO assignments are subject to a revised end date with 2-weeks notice. Qualifications/Requirements: A condition of employment as an EA/CYW with the Waterloo Region District School Board requires that one must pass a Physical Demands test. All job offers will be conditional on the candidate passing all components of this test. This applies to any EA/CYW that does not already have Permanent/LTO level D hours. Educational Assistant Qualifications: Certified Teachers Educational Assistant Diploma or Educational Support Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution Developmental Service Worker (DSW) from an accredited post-secondary institution Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from an accredited post-secondary institution Social Services Diploma (SSW) from an accredited post-secondary institution *** Alternative EA Qualifications with Experience *** Post-secondary degree in Sociology from an accredited post-secondary institution AND a MINIMUM of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience. Minimum six (6) month diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a child-related discipline AND a MINIMUM of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience. Minimum six (6) month certificate from an accredited educational institution in a child-related discipline AND a MINIMUM of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. This could include but is not limited to programs such as the St. Louis Adult Learning certificate program. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience. Post-secondary degree/diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution that is complementary to supporting special needs children as solely determined by the Board AND a MINIMUM of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience.
