K1 Speed Canada is looking to hire a Bookkeeper/Accountant (100% Remote, FT)

Job Description:

K1 Speed Canada is seeking a Bookkeeper/Accountant to become an integral part of our team!

The success candidate will oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. We use Xero, Hubdoc, Google Suite and WagePoint. We use the following tools to communicate with management teams: email, Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace. New tools are coming out regularly, and we will want to use the latest and best tools. You need to be comfortable learning new web-based software quickly.

Please note the successful candidate can live anywhere in Canada as long as they have a strong understanding of provincial and federal tax laws.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate all financial activities including:

• Accounts payables and receivables.
• Reconciliations of GL accounts, including cash, credit cards, bank, prepaid expenses and inter-company and point of sale (POS)/system uploads.
• Process payroll, dividend payments, and maintain employee records.
• Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and develop solutions.
• Record transactions and generate reports.
• Administration of corporate taxes, HST, and source deductions.
• Prepare interim financial statements.
• Prepare all books for Chartered Accountants year-end financial statements.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounting management or other related fields preferably with a service provider.
• Proficient in Xero, Hubdoc, Excel/Google Suite, WagePoint or other similar cloud accounting, payroll and communication software.
• Certified bookkeeper with a bookkeeping or accounting certification from a recognized Canadian college or program, or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Deadline and detail oriented.
