These lands are steeped in rich Indigenous history, traditions and modern cultures that are proud and vibrant.Job Overview:Complete comprehensive, individual psychological assessments including but not limited to: administer and score psychometric testing materials, interview with students, interpretation of testing data, case formulation, write reports and present the assessment findings and recommendations to school personnel and parents/guardians. All duties are performed under the clinical supervision of the Board Lead Psychologist. Ongoing consultation to Student Services, school personnel, and parents/guardians is required.Key Responsibilities
  • Provides comprehensive, individual psychological assessments.
  • Provides a comprehensive written report of assessment findings and describes the student’s profile. Programming recommendations are provided, which are incorporated into the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) as well as direction regarding the student’s eligibility for Ministry of Education exceptionalities through the Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC).
  • Provides an explanation of assessment findings to school personnel, parents/guardians, and possibly external agency support/advocates in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of a student’s profile.
  • Provides in-service and resource support to Student Services, system level staff, and school personnel.
Qualifications
  • Minimum post-secondary education completion of a Master in Psychology, or equivalent area of study.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience, preferably in a community or educational setting.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with quality service focus.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting and demonstrated experience with intervention strategies appropriate for children and youth.
  • Evidence of strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Background check.
