We are looking for askilled and reliable Sound Recordistto join our production team for an upcoming short film (7min)Le Magic Hat, shooting onOctober 22, 2025. There are only 2 scenes in the film. Film students with Sound recording skills are welcome to apply.
The film, titled Le Magic Hat, follows Amélie, a playful 6-year-old who speaks only English, must charm a stern principal to join a French school in Quebec and bloom simply by being herself.
Our mission is to empower and motivate people through the power of film and storytelling.
Responsibilities:
• Record high-quality on-set audio, including dialogue and ambient sound.
• Operate and manage their own sound equipment, providing recommendations on the most suitable equipment for each situation, including boom microphones, mixers, and other tools as needed.
• Work closely with the director and cinematographer to ensure clear and consistent audio.
• Troubleshoot and minimize unwanted noise or technical issues on set.
• Provide sound files for post-production in the appropriate format.
Requirements:
• Experience recording sound for film or video productions.
• Proficiency with industry-standard audio equipment and recording techniques.
• Access to your own sound gear
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliable, professional, and passionate about film production.
