About the Role
Our client is seeking a Registered Architect with 7+ years of post graduate experience working within architecture firms, and a strong track record on institutional projects. You will lead projects from design development through construction, coordinate internal teams and external consultants, and act as the primary point of contact for key clients while maintaining clarity, quality, and alignment with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the post secondary & institutional department, providing strategic oversight, accountability, and direction across active projects
Act as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle
Lead institutional projects through design development, construction documentation, and construction phase services
Provide day to day leadership to project teams including technologists and intermediate staff
Collaborate with senior leadership to guide design direction, delivery strategy, and technical resolution
Oversee and review drawing sets to ensure coordination, quality, and constructability Lead consultant coordination with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and specialty teams
Manage project schedules, deliverables, and internal workflows
Participate in client meetings, stakeholder sessions, and municipal coordination
Support construction phase services including shop drawing review, RFIs, site reviews, and contract administration
Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate team members
Qualifications
Registered Architect - willing to get AIBC & AAA registration
7+ years of professional experience within architecture firms
Strong experience working on institutional projects
Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and coordinate complex consultant groups
Strong knowledge of BCBC, VBBL where applicable, and public sector approval processes
Proficiency in Revit and BIM based workflows
Clear and confident communication skills with experience working directly with institutional clients
Collaborative mindset with an interest in long term leadership growth
