Job Overview

Seven Oaks Transmissions is seeking a self-motivated, hard-working Red Seal Automotive Technician. As a specialist shop, the role focuses heavily on drivetrain and transmission diagnostics and repair, alongside general automotive repair and maintenance. You will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are maintained to high standards and providing expert mechanical solutions in a professional team environment.

 

Pay is based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specialized Diagnostics: Use advanced electronic diagnostic equipment to identify faults in engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and vehicle management systems.
  • Transmission & Drivetrain Repair: Perform complex repairs, rebuilds, and replacements of transmissions, axles, and differentials—the shop's primary areas of expertise.
  • General Automotive Repair: Execute a wide range of repairs including braking systems, steering and suspension, and electrical systems,
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct multi-point inspections and routine services (oil changes, fluid replacements, tire rotations) to ensure vehicle safety and longevity.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all repairs meet OEM standards and the shop’s quality benchmarks before returning vehicles to customers.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each Repair Order (RO).
  • Mentorship: Assist in training and overseeing apprentices, sharing technical knowledge to foster a high-performing team.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certification: Valid Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification is required/highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the automotive industry (post-certification preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic abilities and proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized transmission diagnostic software.
  • Tools: Must possess a complete set of personal automotive technician tools.
  • License: Valid Manitoba Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Attributes: High level of integrity, professional demeanor, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

 

Working Conditions & Benefits

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (No weekends).
