Job Title: Project Manager (Commercial & Institutional Construction)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Salary: $120,000 – $145,000 annually (based on experience)

Our client is a national and 100% employee-owned General Contractor specializing in commercial and institutional projects, and they are currently searching for a Project Manager with extensive healthcare and educational building experience in their Edmonton, Alberta office.

Their backlog consists of multiple projects with varying contract types like Integrated Project Delivery, Construction Management, Design Build, and Lump Sum projects.

You will work with the Project Operations team reporting directly to the Project Director with support from the local functional teams and regional leadership team. This is a highly collaborative environment that requires someone with strong relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders. You will work in an environment that promotes mentorship and will expose you to take the lead on impactful projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage commercial and institutional construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, including contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee contract administration, proposals, and negotiations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute regular project status reports.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8-10 years of experience in construction project management (commercial or institutional).
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills with success stories engaging subcontractors, engineers, consultants and owner's representatives.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with construction principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with MS Project and Procore is considered an asset.
  • General Contractor experience is a MUST HAVE.
  • Experience with Healthcare projects managing projects with Alberta Health Services is an added advantage
