Outbound Sales Representative

Employment Type: Contract (6 months) — with potential for extension

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday: Rotating shifts between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Saturday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Work from Home)

Work Model: Fully Onsite (Monday to Friday) | Work from Home (Saturdays)

Location: Markham, ON

Pay Rate: $22/hour

About the Role

The company is looking for motivated, people-oriented individuals to join our growing Outbound Sales team in a brand-new, entry-level role. As an Outbound Sales Representative, you will be at the forefront of connecting prospective customers with our Auto and Home Insurance products through an automated dialer system. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to launch or grow their career in the insurance or financial services industry. You will play a key role in engaging new customers, identifying their needs, and qualifying opportunities for follow-up by our licensed advisors — ultimately contributing to the growth of the company's customer base.

Full training will be provided; prior insurance knowledge is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume outbound calls efficiently using an automated dialer system
• Introduce and promote the company's Auto and Home Insurance products to prospective clients
• Identify customer needs and qualify leads for handoff to licensed advisors
• Schedule callbacks or facilitate warm transfers to the appropriate sales team
• Accurately document all interactions, outcomes, and follow-up actions in the CRM/system
• Maintain full compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies on every call
• Meet or exceed daily and weekly performance targets including call volume, lead generation, and policy sales
• Handle customer objections with professionalism and empathy, maintaining a positive experience

Schedule & Work Model

This role operates on a rotating shift schedule. You will receive advance notice of your schedule (typically a few weeks ahead) to help you plan accordingly.

• Monday to Friday: Rotating shifts within the 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM window (onsite)
• Saturday: Fixed shift from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (work from home)
• Shift schedules are communicated in advance with sufficient notice

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident, customer-focused, and professional phone presence
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced call environment
• Ability to build rapport quickly and adapt to different customer personalities
• Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate CRM or dialer systems
• Results-driven mindset with a strong work ethic and motivation to hit targets

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a call centre, outbound sales, customer service, or inside sales role
• Basic knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance (training will be provided)
• Experience working with CRM or automated dialer systems
• Existing book of business (BOB) — candidates with a BOB are welcome to bring it
