As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you'll be part of a specialized team that plays a critical role in diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures. Your expertise will help shape patient outcomes and contribute to a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment.
What You'll Do
Prepare and perform quality control on radiopharmaceuticals and imaging equipment Conduct general nuclear medicine imaging, SPECT/CT, and PET/CT procedures Ensure accurate patient identification and provide clear explanations of procedures Administer radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive therapies Maintain scanning rooms, stock supplies, and perform equipment cleaning and quality checks Follow CNSC regulations and KHSC Radiation Safety Manual to ensure a safe environment Manage radioactive waste documentation and inventory Coordinate imaging requests and inpatient transportation Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies Identify and report equipment performance issues Support orientation and training for new staff and students Participate in quality improvement initiatives across the department Provide occasional standby support for inpatient I-131 treatments
What You Bring
Active registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) - Nuclear Medicine CAMRT and OAMRS registration (preferred) 3 years of experience (preferred); new graduates welcome with training provided Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic hospital systems (e.g., PACS) Professional interpersonal skills and discretion with confidential matters Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize under pressure Independent decision-making and initiative Clear criminal reference and vulnerable sector check
