Materiel Management Technicians in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) ensure that all the supplies and services necessary for CAF operations are available when and where they’re required. These include: Competitive salary starting from $4,337 - $6,413/month for new recruits who join the Regular Force under the Direct Entry plan New pay increases: earn more from the start Signing Bonus paid in installments at key service milestones Training opportunities Vacation, parental, and other types of paid leave Health, dental, and vision coverage Counseling, and relocation support services Pension plan Stimulating workplace that promotes respect, belonging, and work-life balance Overview As a Materiel Management Technician, your primary duties are to: Manage the purchasing, warehousing, shipping, receiving, stock control and disposal of obsolete stock and equipment Operate military vehicles weighing up to 10 tons and materials-handling equipment such as forklifts Order material from internal and external sources and purchase supplies Deliver supplies and provide services to operational units Perform recordkeeping, stocktaking and inventory control Maintain accounting and financial records You will find a comprehensive list of the primary duties on the forces.ca website. This position is similar to the following: Contract Administrator Purchasing Officer Warehouse Supervisor Material Manager To be eligible to apply to the CAF, you must: Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada; Be at least 18 years old (17 years old with parental consent), except: For the Paid Education programs, you may be 16 years old (with parental consent); For the Primary Reserve, you may be 16 years old (with parental consent) and must be enrolled as a full-time student; Have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondary IV in Québec (some jobs need higher levels of education). Required Education The minimum required education to apply for this position is the completion of the provincial requirements for Grade 10 or Secondary IV in Quebec. Foreign education may be accepted. Direct Entry Plan No previous work experience or career related skills are required.
