Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Belleville, ON

Shift: Monday to Friday (3pm-11pm)

Compensation: $100,000-105,000/ annual + Benefits + Pension

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and coordinate skilled trades within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, team performance, and safe maintenance practices while supporting production uptime and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong technical background, proven people-management skills, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to a team of skilled trades, including millwrights, electricians, welders, and apprentices
  • Foster a positive, accountable work culture aligned with safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Support employee development through coaching, performance feedback, and structured reviews
  • Lead department meetings, communicate priorities, and ensure timely resolution of open issues

Maintenance Operations

  • Ensure optimal uptime and performance of all production and facility equipment through preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, and root-cause analysis
  • Coordinate internal maintenance activities and external contractors for specialized repairs and services
  • Oversee tooling and equipment maintenance to ensure production meets quality and efficiency standards
  • Support equipment commissioning, vendor visits, and technical evaluations for new or upgraded machinery

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Champion health and safety practices by identifying hazards, correcting unsafe conditions, and leading incident investigations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in scheduled workplace inspections and support environmental health and safety initiatives

Planning, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Track maintenance metrics, downtime trends, overtime usage, and service performance indicators
  • Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities, inspections, and department performance
  • Support 5S standards and continuous improvement efforts across the facility
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and other cross-functional teams to support operational goals

Scheduling & Flexibility

  • Coordinate staffing coverage across shifts as required
  • Support overtime and flexible scheduling to meet operational demands
  • Travel between facilities may be required to support cross-training and standardization efforts

Qualifications & Experience

  • Journeyperson certification as a Millwright or Industrial Electrician (required)
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on skilled trades experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong exposure to:
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Automation, robotics, and power presses
  • Plant services and building systems
  • Prior supervisory or lead-hand experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and best maintenance practices
  • Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience is considered an asset

  • Ability to work at a computer workstation as required
