Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer With Support experience

Location:Toronto, ON

Work Style:Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite

Duration:6–12 Months Contract

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong hands-on expertise in enterprise mainframe application development and production support within large-scale banking environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical experience across z/OS systems, batch processing, application support, scheduling tools, and DevOps-enabled mainframe modernization practices.

This role requires strong troubleshooting, support, and enhancement experience across mission-critical banking applications, along with expertise in COBOL, JCL, IMS, DB2, CICS, VSAM, scheduling tools, and modern DevOps integrations such as GitHub, Jenkins, and UCD.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain enterprise mainframe banking applications in production and non-production environments
• Develop, enhance, debug, and maintain COBOL, JCL, CICS, IMS DB/DC, DB2, and VSAM applications
• Perform root cause analysis, incident resolution, and production support activities
• Schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot batch jobs using CA7 and BMC Control-M
• Work with File-AID/File Manager for data validation and troubleshooting
• Support DevOps-enabled mainframe delivery pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, UCD, and IDz
• Develop and execute SQL/SPUFI queries for DB2 validation and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with QA, infrastructure, business, and support teams for release and deployment activities
• Support application modernization and integration initiatives
• Participate in system testing, release validation, and deployment support
• Maintain compliance with SDLC, operational, and enterprise governance standards
