As a Lead Geotechnical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for complex engineering projects across British Columbia. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative for public and private sector.

Your Impact
  • Lead geotechnical design and analysis for major infrastructure projects, including transportation, energy, civil infrastructure, and urban development.
  • Deliver advanced soil-structure interaction studies and foundation engineering solutions that ensure safety and resilience.
  • Collaborate with project managers, inter-disciplinary teams, and clients to develop strategies that meet technical, environmental, and financial objectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Drive innovation in geotechnical practices, integrating cutting-edge technologies and sustainability principles into project delivery.
The Skills that Set You Apart
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering (Masters or PhD preferred).
  • 12+ years of consulting experience in geotechnical engineering, including business development and project leadership.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia (or eligibility for registration).
  • Expertise in advanced geotechnical analysis, design, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Technical knowledge of geotechnical engineering, including: design of deep foundations, shallow foundations, evaluating slope stability, earthquake engineering, retaining wall design, earth retention, settlement of compressible soils, ground improvement techniques, support of excavation, dewatering etc.
  • Experience with discipline-specific design software and advanced numerical modelling (e.g., Plaxis, FLAC, SLIDE, Settle3, SlopeW, SeepW etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience presenting technical topics to clients, including preparation of technical reports.
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
  • Valid BC driver’s license.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 – $162,800

MB & ON: $112,100 – $154,400

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 – $147,400
