Job Title

Technologist – Test Engineering, Ottawa

Responsibilities

• Operate, test, and maintain test equipment using standard approaches and/or equipment with guidance and support from others.
• Troubleshoot circuits from system to component level, using knowledge of complex technical data (e.g., difficult to analyze, understand or solve, such as printed circuit board density, software and code functionality, smart chips, etc.). Perform rework as required (mechanical assembly, basic soldering) and identify and resolve technical issues.
• Record, understand, identify, and interpret schematic diagrams, drawings, parts lists, bills of materials, assembly processes, quality tracking systems, failure reports, quality charts, process routing sheets, acceptance test procedures and test results.
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance/calibration on various conventional, numerical control, computer numerical control machinery (e.g., power supply or a temperature chamber), peripherals and controls of a straightforward nature with guidance and direction.
• Mentor and train technicians in the debugging and testing of product.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Requires a three‑year College Diploma as an Electronics Technologist or equivalent.
• Up to and including three months of related work experience.

Work Details

• Work schedule: 40 hours per week.
• Work arrangement: On‑site.

General Dynamics Mission Systems‑Canada is registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and requires all employees to be security‑assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants must also be eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation

Hiring rate: $28.44 per hour.
