Compensation

Range: $160,000- $200,000 CAD. The salary range listed reflects the base pay for this role at Altus Group and is provided where required by local regulations. Actual offers may differ based on experience, market conditions, and other relevant factors. The range does not include additional compensation such as bonuses, equity, benefits, or other incentives.



Job Summary

As a result of accelerated growth and new large-scale infrastructure projects, Altus is looking for a new Director, Infrastructure. You will play a critical role in executing the growth strategy for infrastructure project delivery and cost consulting, leveraging your industry knowledge, contacts, and capabilities to identify, pursue and win $2 million in new business annually.



Responsibilities

  • Serve as the highest point of contact for prospects and clients, fostering strong relationships and delivering outstanding service.

  • Lead business development, including pre‑bid work and presentations.

  • Oversee a team providing a full range of technical, commercial, and contractual infrastructure cost consulting services to new and existing clients.

  • Meet onsite supervisors to compare drawings to progress, make assessments, and align expectations and deliverables.

  • Build development planning strategically.

  • Partner with peers across other Business Units to explore cross‑selling and up‑selling opportunities.

  • Develop and implement marketing and synergy plans for the assigned offices in collaboration with senior leadership.

  • Hire and nurture a team, set expectations, manage day‑to‑day tasks, and oversee overall performance.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and motivation to build the team's knowledge and expand expertise of offered services.

  • Communicate business direction to teams and ensure alignment of individual goals with business objectives.

  • Attend industry events and company initiatives, acting as a thought‑leader and subject‑matter expert, sharing information and insights wherever possible.

  • Implement plans in local markets to increase revenues and profit by building client satisfaction, commitment, and loyalty.



Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Senior‑level expertise in infrastructure, engineering, building cost planning and monitoring, and project management.

  • Expertise in reviewing infrastructure development plans from drawings to spreadsheets, and taking innovative or alternative project management approaches to deliver all aspects of large infrastructure projects successfully.

  • Existing senior‑level contacts in industry, both public and private sectors.

  • Ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to client needs, and a drive to meet or exceed expectations.

  • Capability to innovate solutions to keep the project – and the business – moving forward.

  • Influence and inspire cross‑functional teams, coach and mentor junior individuals, review and guide work products, and collaborate closely as a critical collaborator.

  • Plan and deliver multiple complex projects with competing priorities, on time and on budget.

  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and quantity take‑offs.

  • Proficient with SharePoint and MS Office, including skills in Excel and construction cost estimating tools.

  • Understanding of general concepts of project finance and implementing progressive delivery models.

  • Ability to build and foster relationships with internal and client stakeholders across all levels of construction projects, gathering information and eliciting cooperation both onsite and virtually.

  • Effective communication skills, clarifying ambiguities and presenting information in a structured way.

  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
