Job Description

Atlantic Towing is currently seeking candidates for the position of Crewing Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Manager of Crewing, Training and Certifications, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the vessels are crewed with properly certificated, qualified, trained and medically fit seafarers, in accordance with applicable international, flag–state and local regulations, as well as any additional requirements of the company and its customers.

Responsibilities
  • Arrange crew changes and all crewing requirements for a large fleet of tugboats and offshore supply vessels using most cost effective and convenient travel routes
  • Plan organize and manage the day-to-day crewing personnel functions in compliance with HR policies and procedures
  • Prepare payroll summaries from vessel timesheets and submit to payroll on time and accurately
  • Maintain appropriate records on all seafarers’ education, training, skills, security qualifications, experience and medical fitness, as well as their employment history with the company
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and participate in an on call rotation
  • Participation in workforce planning and budgeting process
  • Participate in seafarer selection and employee engagement activities
  • Travel may be required
Qualifications
  • Post Secondary education or equivalent in operational/ administrative or marine experience
  • Experience in workforce scheduling; recruiting or customer service would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines in a very demanding environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff
  • A team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, able to respect and deal with highly confidential and sensitive issues
  • Ability to analyze problems/opportunities for efficiencies and make recommendations for improvements
  • Positive result focused attitude
  • Ability to shift priorities with changing operational requirements
