Role Overview

Rydel Franchise Group is seeking an experienced Contract Controller to lead a critical phase of our finance transformation. This role will be responsible for driving the transition from QuickBooks to Zoho Books, strengthening internal controls, and building scalable accounting processes across a growing, multi-entity franchise network.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a Controller who thrives in fast-paced environments and has experience stabilizing and modernizing finance functions while the business continues to operate.

Key Responsibilities
System Conversion & Process Build

• Lead the migration from QuickBooks to Zoho Books, including system configuration, testing, and parallel runs
  
• Design and document accounting workflows, controls, and month-end close processes in Zoho Books
  
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external developers to ensure accurate system implementation
  
• Oversee a phased go-live approach, including completion of initial month-end closes for select entities
  

Internal Controls & Financial Governance

• Establish and enforce internal controls, including bank reconciliations, segregation of duties, and approval workflows
  
• Strengthen franchise-level financial oversight and monitoring
  
• Identify control gaps and implement practical, scalable solutions
  
• Support fraud prevention and risk mitigation initiatives
  

Month-End Close & Reporting

• Own the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
  
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  
• Improve close timelines and reporting consistency across entities
  

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Provide day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to an offshore accounting team (AP, AR, junior accounting)
  
• Coach and mentor team members to improve accounting quality and process adherence
  
• Support knowledge transfer and documentation to ensure sustainability beyond the contract period
  

Partnership with CFO

• Work closely with the CFO to align on priorities, sequencing, and execution
  
• Enable the CFO to focus on strategic finance, cash flow planning, and leadership-level initiatives
  

RequirementsQualifications & Experience

• CPA designation strongly preferred
  
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibility
  
• Proven experience leading financial system conversions (ERP/accounting systems)
  
• Strong background in internal controls, multi-entity accounting, and process design
  
• Experience in franchise, multi-location, or complex operating environments preferred
  
• Comfortable leading change and working through ambiguity
  
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
