About the Program: Classroom volunteers play a vital role in supporting instructors in various programs, with a particular need in our Literacy program. Volunteers are assigned based on requests from instructors and undergo a Literacy-specific orientation before being placed in classrooms. As a classroom volunteer, you will: Support the instructor with provided materials Work with one or two clients who have similar needs Assist clients with activities such as letter formation, counting, and reading Participate in role plays to model speaking activities Support clients in developing their learning strategies Show respect to clients and acknowledge their lifelong skills and successes Note: There may be a waiting list for this volunteer position, and new volunteer intake may be temporarily paused.
