Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs. Using waterproofing sheet in materials such as modified plastics, elastic materials, or other asphaltic pieces, install, repair, or replace a single-ply roof. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Measure and cut materials to ensure their accurate fitting around the walls. Install, repair or replace shingles and other roofing tiles. Remove snow, water, or debris from roofs prior to applying roofing materials. Smooth rough spots to prepare surfaces for waterproofing, using hammers, chisels, or rubbing bricks. Install insulation materials underneath roofs. Use hand tools and other equipment (e.g. scaffold, ladder). Calculate the goods and labor estimates to perform budget- conscious work. Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Requirements: Completion of Secondary School is required.
