Reporting to the Manager, BI Analytics, the Batch Operations Engineer is part of a diverse & collaborative Analytical Data and Platforms team where you will get the opportunity to drive operations excellence initiatives and work cross-functionally with our business and IT partners. You will operate, monitor, trouble shoot daily batch loads of an operational data warehouse based on Snowflake and using ELT tool Matillion.

• Execution and Monitoring of Snowflake based Data warehouse batch Loads using ELT tool Matillion

Coordinate with all essential IT and source system teams to analyze and resolve daily load issues

Analyze source and develop data controls, identify potential issues and develop custom action plan to mitigate them

Troubleshoot daily batch load issues with understanding the error log files of platforms and scripts

Performs data validation to confirm data is moved into the data warehouse correctly

Support Development & Testing team for their data needs and availability

Works with reporting teams to assist them in understanding any reported variances between the data warehouse and source system

Adhere to Incident & issue management processes and resolve them to comply with SLAs

Prepare daily Batch report with all incident and stats

Self-motivated team player with excellent problem solving and communication skills

• Have bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, or relevant Certifications
• Have 2+ years hands‑on experience on on‑prem & Cloud native data platforms like Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server and Postgres
• Have 2+ years hands‑on experience on ETL/ELT tools like Informatica IICS, Matillion
• Have 2+ years hands‑on experience of creating data pipelines
• Experience in Python and Unix Shell Scripting
• Experience in development of SQL Scripting
• Experience is JSON Scripting
• Certifications in relevant fields of work
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written) at the advanced level. The person who fills this position will be required to communicate with our French‑speaking external partners outside Ontario on an frequent basis.
