Senior Naval Architect Engineer – Dartmouth, NS

We are looking for an engineer with a passion for naval architecture who wants to support Canada’s Royal Canadian Navy and Coast Guard. Join Fleetway to work on the Halifax Class Design Agents program, delivering in‑service support that keeps Canada’s fleet mission ready.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze engineering changes across naval ships, systems, and equipment—including structures, materials, welding, coatings & preservation, shock & vibration, damage control systems, and piping.
  • Lead or support technical investigations and engineering studies to assess performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Provide expert input to engineering specifications, design documentation, and technical drawings.
  • Review, update, and maintain technical documentation for naval systems and equipment to ensure accuracy and alignment with current standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in shipbuilding, shipyard operations, or marine engineering.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and/or 2D drafting tools.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation from a provincial or territorial engineering regulatory body.
  • Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government Security Clearance.
