The Municipality of East Hants is centrally located on mainland Nova Scotia and is home to the world’s highest recorded tides. East Hants has three unofficial regions: the Corridor, Central and Fundy Shore, and Uniacke and Rawdon. The Corridor is located in the southeastern portion of the Municipality. This region includes the communities of Enfield, Elmsdale, Lantz, Milford and Shubenacadie, and is the most urbanized part of the Municipality. The Fundy Shore and Central region is driven by tides, tourism and breathtaking views, making it the heart of adventure and relaxation in Nova Scotia. Agriculture is prevalent along both the scenic Minas shore and Kennetcook River in this region. Communities in this area include Walton, Noel, Maitland, Kennetcook, Stanley and Gore. Uniacke and Rawdon are home to many hiking trails and recreation opportunities along lakes, rivers and through towering forests. Uniacke is located between Halifax and the Annapolis Valley and is the second most densely populated community located between these centres. Rawdon is an increasingly popular destination for agri-business and residential growth, due to the desirable rural lifestyle with proximity to urban amenities.
