Location: Remote, with preference for candidates located in Yellowknife, Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver.

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be familiar with payroll policies specific to employees in the Northwest Territories and have proficiency in QuickBooks Online Payroll System. This role is part-time, with a maximum commitment of 10 hours per month.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Execute accurate and timely payroll processing for employees based in the Northwest Territories. Payroll processing will occur twice per month - once after the 15th and once after the last day of the month.
- Policy Compliance: Stay informed about payroll policies and regulations relevant to the Northwest Territories, ensuring compliance in all payroll-related activities.
- QuickBooks Online Expertise: Utilize QuickBooks Online Payroll System to manage and process payroll efficiently.
- Benefits and Insurance Oversight: Manage and oversee employee benefits and insurance coordination, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Records of Employment (ROE): Maintain and oversee the preparation of Records of Employment for employees as needed.
- Employee Onboarding: Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees into the payroll system, ensuring accurate and complete information.
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable: Knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes is a plus.
- Data Accuracy: Maintain precise records of employee information, hours worked, deductions, benefits, and other relevant payroll data.
- Communication: Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary payroll-related information and communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll matters.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with payroll policies and regulations in the Northwest Territories is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online Payroll System.
- Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams and employees.
Work Schedule:
- The position is part-time, with a maximum commitment of 10 hours per month.
- Payroll processing will occur twice per month, once after the 15th and once after the last day of the month.
- The schedule is flexible, allowing for efficient completion of payroll tasks within the specified time frame.
