Pocketed is hiring a Data Entry Intern for a summer internship!

As a Data Entry Intern, you will play an important role in accurately adding funding programs to our database. As part of our Database teams, you’ll contribute to the excellence of Pocketed’s proprietary funding database. All your efforts will drive our overall mission of removing financial barriers for entrepreneurs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry: Accurately input grant funding information into the database, including grant amounts, deadlines, funding sources, and other relevant details.
  • Data Verification: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data by cross-referencing with source documents and following established protocols.
  • Data Maintenance: Use our proprietary database management technology to update and maintain the grant funding database to reflect the latest information, such as new funding opportunities, deadlines, and changes in grant status.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine quality checks to identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies in the database.
  • Reporting: Generate reports as needed, summarizing key grant funding metrics and trends for internal use.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration of grant funding data with other organizational systems and processes.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with other data-related tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors.

Your Qualifications:

  • Note: this internship is funded by Canada Summer Jobs. In order to be considered for this role, you must meet Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria (detailed in the footnotes of this link).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Prior experience with data entry or database management is a plus but not required.

Your Benefits:

In this role you will work closely with a tight-knit founding team to rapidly design and build new generation solutions to real-world problems. As part of our Database team, you will have the full support of our CTO and entire technical team, as well as our CEO and growth team.

More specifically, your benefits will include:

  • $18 to $20 per hour, based on your experience
  • Vacation, sick days (5 days), and up to 5 bonus company days off (2 days at Christmas, 3 days in the summer).
  • Predictable schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (40 hours per week)
  • Summer internship (8 weeks long, potential to extend)
  • Remote work arrangement (our team is distributed across Canada, but we have an office space in Vancouver if you prefer a change of scenery).
  • Structured growth meetings and team meetings (we meet with intention – nobody likes to meet … to meet)
