MJR Electric Shop Project

This is a Vancouver-based small business logistics and inventory management opportunity to develop and implement an inventory management system for MJR Electrical.

The ideal applicant will be located in the Vancouver area and have or have access to a laptop and be able to work hands-on with organizing materials and inventory.

You will be required to work alongside our team members going through and organizing the material of the shop to get it separated and up to standard for quantities and assist in determining ideal inventory levels by SKU.

What we are looking to accomplish:

· Develop an Excel or Google document of our materials with SKUs

· Track, inventory and manage approximately 1000 SKUs which are held in our warehouse containers and on trucks.

· Organize shelving and shop materials.

· Get an accurate inventory of all of our materials in the shop and trucks.

· Implement a process and system to record and acknowledge material coming from the shop and going into the shop.

· Working with existing Excel documents for material and tools (templates already completed)

· Review the benefits of setting up a printer and computer at the warehouse.

· Setting up an organized “keyboard” for our job sites

· Set up education videos of how and where everything goes in the shop and what to do, thats SOP education videos for the employees

· Setting up an area and process for recycling and materials that is well labelled.

· Set up cameras and better lighting in the shop for monitoring purposes.

This last one may be out of scope as that’s accounting vs logistics.

· Setting up a system for timesheets and other required paperwork to do our work

Qualifications:

· Good understanding of logistics and how to recommend different products or software for the solutions we need.

· Ability to work with Excel.

· Have a laptop that you can bring to the site to complete the logistics work and tracking.

· Good understanding of inventory and how to make a live inventory work for a smaller company.

· Familiarity with electrical products (not needed but preferred).

· Access with transportation to get to and from the site

We want to begin as soon as possible, and this will be a $7,500 contract, paid monthly upon a phased content delivery we will coordinate with you in the first couple of days of engagement. We hope to have this completed before the end of August 2024.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
