This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Product Designer, Applied AI in Canada.
This is a strategic design leadership role focused on shaping AI-native product experiences used by a global community of creators and businesses. You will define how intelligent agents, copilots, and automated workflows integrate seamlessly into real-world user journeys. Working closely with engineering and applied AI teams, you’ll transform complex machine learning capabilities into intuitive, trustworthy, and empowering interfaces. This role goes beyond traditional product design — you’ll tackle transparency, control, and user trust in non-deterministic systems. Operating in a highly autonomous, remote-first environment, you’ll have full ownership from early discovery to shipped experiences, influencing the future of AI-powered collaboration.
Accountabilities:
Own and drive the design strategy for Applied AI product surfaces, from early discovery through launch and iteration.
Translate AI capabilities into clear, intuitive user experiences including agents, copilots, and workflow automation tools.
Define scalable patterns for AI-assisted and AI-automated actions, including triggering, monitoring, editing, and correction flows.
Design for transparency and trust, ensuring users understand AI behavior and maintain meaningful control over outputs.
Rapidly prototype AI-powered features and validate concepts through user testing and feedback loops.
Act as a strategic partner to Product and Engineering, influencing roadmap decisions and shaping product direction.
Collaborate closely with engineering and ML teams, iterating as capabilities evolve and new technical opportunities emerge.
Provide thought leadership on AI + UX trends, continuously improving standards, systems, and best practices.
Requirements:
6+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing UX excellence and refined visual craft.
Demonstrated experience designing AI-powered products, conversational interfaces, automation tools, or other complex systems.
Active use of AI within your design workflow (research, ideation, prototyping, content creation, or visual generation), with the ability to articulate how it enhances your process.
Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted prototyping tools (e.g., v0, Lovable, Cursor + Claude Code, or similar).
Strong prototyping skills — able to build realistic, interactive prototypes independently.
High proficiency in Figma for high‑fidelity design and collaborative workflows.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in async and remote environments.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, defining problems clearly, and building solutions without established patterns.
Meticulous attention to detail, delivering polished, production‑ready design work.
Professional-level English proficiency (CEFR C2 / ILR Level 5).
Benefits:
Competitive salary range of $140,000 – $170,000 USD per year, with annual compensation reviews (level may be adjusted based on experience alignment).
Equity participation in a high‑growth environment.
Fully remote work — operate from anywhere globally.
35 days of paid time off annually plus paid sabbatical after 5 years.
Comprehensive healthcare coverage (100% coverage for employees and families in applicable regions) or reimbursement options.
Parental leave for growing families.
Home office stipend to support your remote setup.
Learning & development stipend to fuel continuous growth.
Annual bonus eligibility for applicable roles.
Biannual, fully funded global company retreats in inspiring destinations.
